Agriturismo il Gelso is not just relaxation, wonderful landscapes and genuine breakfasts. During your stay you can choose between a tasting accompanied by our wines, an excursion in search of truffles or a walk through our vineyards.

Wine tastings and visits to the cellar

Upon your arrival we will offer an aperitif of the house in the garden composed of tasty bruschetta accompanied by our white wine  Arneis “I Sassi”.
At the end Mr. Franco will accompany you for a walk in our vineyards of the valley of Barolo, “La Serra”, “Fossati”, “Case Nere” and we will tell you the methods of cultivation and production of our wines. On return you will be offered a tasting with a table set out in the garden.

We offer 3 types of menus, which we can discuss and vary according to your needs.

Menu 1

Price per person including the walk: 20 €

  • Appetizers: Parmesan salad, typical cold cuts (raw salami / cooked salami / bacon;
    Tagliere with 4 typical cheeses: Tuma di Murazzano, Raschera di Alpeggio, Bra Stagionato, Castel Magno combined with Cugnà di Nebbiolo produced at home;
  • Dessert: cream pudding or grandma’s pudding, coffee, grappa.

Menu 2

Price per person including the walk: 30 €

  • Appetizers: Parmesan salad, typical cold cuts: salame raw / cooked salami / raw ham / lard with herbs, tongue in green sauce;
  • First heat: ravioli al plin with meat sauce, butter and sage;
  • Tagliere with 4 types of typical cheeses: Tuma di Murazzano, Raschera di alpeggio, seasoned Bra, Castel Magno combined with homemade Cugnà di Nebbiolo;
  • Dessert: cream or grandma pudding, coffee, grappa.

Menu 3

Price per person including the walk: 35 €

  • Appetizers: Parmesan salad, typical cold cuts: salame raw / cooked salami / raw ham / lard with herbs, tongue in green sauce;
  • First heat: ravioli al plin with meat sauce, butter and sage;
  • Tagliere with 5 types of typical cheeses: Tuma d’Alba, Tuma di Murazzano, Raschera di Montagna, Bra Stagionato, Castel Magno combined with home made Cugnà di Nebbiolo;
  • Dessert: cream or grandma pudding, coffee, grappa.

All the menus are paired with our wines: Dolcetto d’Alba 2009, Barbera “La Serra” 2006, Nebbiolo Langhe 2005, Barolo “Fossati” 2005.

Excursion in search of truffles

We have been truffle hunter for three generations: first the great-grandfather Egidio, who was one of the most important trifolai in the area, then his grandfather Remigio and finally Franco, who still carries on the family tradition.
In the months of September and October it is possible to organize excursions in search of the White Truffle.
