Our desire is to offer you a pleasant and welcoming stay where you can enjoy hearty breakfasts and wine produced from our cellar accompanied by meats, cheeses and typical dishes of the Langhe tradition.
And every time you want to go back to the Langhe, Agriturismo il Gelso will always be ready to welcome you as your second home.
The farmhouse is managed by us: Marisa and Pierfranco, naturally helped by the previous generation (the mother of Pierfranco) and our daughter Martina. Three generations of enterprising women who love homely and welcoming hospitality, who like to get up early to prepare cakes, jams and preserves that will then be served in the farmhouse, or to look after the vegetable garden where they will pick up tasty tomatoes, zucchini and peppers served during wine cellar tastings.
The first farmhouse in the province of Cuneo
Farmhouse Il Gelso Agritourism was founded in 1981 thanks to our passion for hospitality and tourism and it has been the first farmhouse in the province of Cuneo, Piedmont. We still like to share local traditions and our food and wine making everyone feel at ease.
The name “il Gelso” has an affective meaning for our family because it represents the symbol of a centuries-old plant that has accompanied the daily work that took place in the courtyard of the farmhouse for generations. In fact, the Gelso, especially between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, was used to feed silkworms. Even today in our garden there is a Mulberry bear witness to this tradition.
Over the years we have made a precise choice to build a loyal customer base and see that many guests often come back to visit us is the proof that we have made the right choice. As a recognition of our passion, since 2003 we receive the “Quality Farm” certificate every year.
Furthermore, in 2017 the Piedmont Region and the Terranostra Association awarded us the highest score in the ranking as “Italian Farmhouse”.
